Dental inlays and onlays are recommended to restore teeth that are damaged but do not require a full crown. Also known as partial crowns, inlays and onlays require little or no removal of your original tooth structure, repairing and replacing damaged tooth structure to strengthen and protect the tooth from further damage. Our inlays and onlays are also made of tooth-colored material so that they blend in with your natural tooth color to produce a naturally beautiful result.
When you visit Remington Family Dental, our dentists will examine the damaged teeth and determine if you need an inlay or an onlay. We generally recommend inlays for teeth with more limited damage that does not reach the cusps of your teeth (the pointed areas on the chewing surface of the tooth). Onlays are recommended when the damage extends to one or more of the cusps.
Using CEREC technology, our dentists can create and place your inlays or onlays in just one appointment, allowing you to leave our office with a healthy and renewed smile.
